Simms Named MP & CEO of Habif, Arogeti & Wynne

Atlanta (Oct. 7, 2003) – J. Dan Simms has been named managing partner and chief executive of Habif, Arogeti & Wynne, Georgia’s largest accounting firm.

Simms, 47, replaces managing partner Jonathan Miller, 56, who will transition to chief operating officer of the firm.

"HA&W is poised to grow in new ways and build upon what Jon achieved over the last 10 years," said Simms. "The new management team understands the rich tradition of the firm and is forward thinking in its plans to build upon the firm's track record of success. We are also fortunate that Jon will continue to serve as a resource to the firm -- providing continuity through the transition."

During Miller’s tenure, the firm organized into industry practice areas, diversified its service offerings, and converted to a largely paperless environment. Miller joined the firm in 1970 and was named a partner in 1976.

"The CEO and COO model will allow Marc and Dan to guide our firm while providing them with time to remain close to their clients," said Miller, noting that the approach is distinctive in the industry. "This is another example of our firm adopting best practices and looking for ways to constantly improve and better serve our clients, knowing that their success is our bottom line.”

The firm ranked No. 81 on Accounting Today’s Top 100 firms list for 2002, with about $21 million in revenues.
