SAGE OFFERS SOFTWARE FOR UNITED WAY CAMPAIGNS: Sage Software released the latest version of Sage Fundraising 100 - Rainbow Edition, offering United Way organizations a suite of fundraising management and development tools.Formerly called MIP Fundraising Rainbow, the new release, Version 4.0, features options for managing United Way workplace campaigns, such as a new Grants Management module, and interface improvements to several additional Sage Software products and expanded endowment features.

The Grants Management piece of the program allows United Way agencies to administer and track the entire process of granting funds. From initial application and request through disbursement, the Rainbow Edition allows agencies to monitor each stage of the funding process, including multi-step grant approval processes, and to set up payout schedules based on program designations.

Other enhancements built into the Rainbow Edition include expanded endowment module features for easier management of more planned giving vehicles, and a better overall view of gifts and results from a single fundraising system.

RED WING SOFTWARE RELEASES TURNINGPOINT 4.0: Financial software publisher Red Wing Software Inc. said that it would release Version 4.0 of its TurningPoint modular accounting software package for small and midsized businesses on October 27. The updated version expands the system's reporting capabilities, as well as invoicing and order-entry.

Red Wing officials said that Version 4.0 enhancements are included in the accounts receivable, order entry and inventory modules. For profit center management, cost-of-goods-sold tracking was added to the product's sales category set-up, allowing reporting on profit centers with sales and corresponding cost-of-goods-sold amounts.

Other enhancements include the ability to print a quick, one-time check without setting up a vendor, and tracking of separate freight and sales tax entries on accounts payable invoices during the purchase orders receipt process. The new version also includes additional flexibility in statement printing, and improved lot tracking and sales management of lotted items.

ENVISION ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE NOW AVAILABLE: EmeraldKey Technologies Inc., which provides accounting applications for small and midsized businesses, has introduced Envision Accounting Software for accounting and financial professionals. The software includes features to handle all business management needs, including financial accounting, project management, client management, time and expenses, billing, payroll, budgets/forecasts, real-time reporting, and Web integration.

Three editions of Envision Accounting Software are available: the Small Business Edition (for up to five users), the Standard Edition (for up to 100 concurrent users) and the Enterprise Edition (for more than 100 concurrent users). COUGAR MOUNTAIN REVAMPS SITE, JOINS MICROSOFT PROGRAM: Cougar Mountain Software, publisher of a suite of accounting software for small and midsized organizations, launched a redesigned Web site at www.cougarmtn.com and announced that it has earned certified status in Microsoft Corp.'s Partner Program.

With a goal of better reaching users of varied Web browsers, Cougar Mountain said that the new site is designed to be more cross-browser compliant, as well as to include more user-friendly navigation and a change to the look and feel, in an effort to make it consistent with corporate branding.

Microsoft-certified partners receive benefits, such as access, training and support. "The certified status allows us to clearly promote our expertise and relationship with Microsoft to our customers," said chief operating officer Jim Stone, in a statement. "The benefits provided through our certified membership will allow us to continue to enhance the offerings we provide for customers."
