SAGE LAUNCHES SAAS-BASED PAYMENTS PLATFORM

McLean, Va. - Sage North America has introduced Sage Exchange, a new cloud-based, Payment Card Industry-certified payments platform to allow small and midsized businesses and organizations to accept all forms and methods of payment, with integration to a wide range of Sage products and third-party solutions.

Elements of Sage Exchange will be released in phases over the next several months, but the initial phases will allow businesses and organizations using a number of Sage software products to accept credit and debit cards in a secure environment, while automatically updating accounts receivable records.

MICROSOFT PUTS EXCEL IN THE CLOUD IN OFFICE 2010

Redmond, Wash. - Microsoft unveiled the latest version of its Office suite of desktop software, including significant updates to familiar applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as a new version of SharePoint.

New features in Microsoft Excel 2010 include "sparklines," which lets users transform large amounts of data into small, at-a-glance displays that fit into a single cell. Sparklines allows users to take large sets of data and present them visually in small spaces.

The new applications provide more Web-based features, including Microsoft Office Web Apps, online companions to Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote.

ACCOUNTANTSWORLD LAUNCHES REVAMPED WEB SITE

Hauppauge, N.Y - AccountantsWorld has revamped its Web site to help clearly delineate its resource portal and destination for its accountant-centric products.

Recent changes to the portal - accessible through AccountantsWorld.com - include a new community section for accountants to share and discuss best practices and offer suggestions for further product enhancements, and easier navigation among the solutions available to accountants for growing their practices.

Launched in 2000, the portal is currently used over 400,000 times a month.
