KASHOO ADDS PRINTING, INVOICE TEMPLATES TO IPAD APP

Vancouver, B.C. -- Cloud accounting software maker Kashoo has released Version 2.1 of its accounting iPad app, which includes, among other things, mobile printing and client-ready invoice templates.

Mobile printing can now also be done with the AirPrint feature, and there are approximately six new invoice templates for customers to use.

Kashoo customers can now use an Attachments feature to snap a picture of a receipt with their iPad's camera and then attach it to an expense, directly within the app.

 

COUGAR MOUNTAIN ADDS NEW PACKAGES TO DENALI

Boise, Idaho -- Accounting software maker Cougar Mountain Software has added three new business accounting packages based on its Denali product that are designed to work with various stages of a business' growth.

The three packages include Basecamp, Ascent and Summit. Denali Basecamp was designed for new or existing businesses that require more than what Excel spreadsheets or basic accounting packages can provide, but are not yet ready for a more robust product. Ascent includes basic back-office functions plus the ability to manage inventory, cash flow, and use customizable reports, while Summit allows users to manage inventory across multiple locations and utilize enhanced vendor and purchase order capabilities.

 

ZOHO ADDS AUTO BCC AND MOBILE E-MAIL FILTER TO CRM

Pleasanton, Calif. -- Zoho has added upgrades to its Web and mobile Zoho CRM product, including BCC Dropbox, an automatic BCC feature, and integration of MailMagnet, an e-mail filtering function for mobile devices.

BCC Dropbox enables users to send e-mails from their favorite e-mail client and have them associated to the right customer record inside Zoho CRM. Zoho CRM copies the e-mails, and associates them to the right lead or contact.

 

WAVE ADDS RECEIPT SCANNING TOOL

Toronto -- Free online accounting software developer Wave has added a receipt-scanning tool with companion mobile applications to its suite of small-business offerings.

Receipts by Wave, which is available as an iPhone app or online, allows users to snap a photo of a receipt with a mobile device, upload a receipt from a computer or forward an e-mailed receipt. Using Optical Character Recognition, information is automatically pulled from images of receipts and then streamed into Wave, where it creates an accounting record that is categorized and matched against existing transactions. Wave plans to add an Android app and e-mail tool in the near future.

 

SWIZZNET TO HOST NEW QUICKBOOKS POS PRODUCT

Seattle -- QuickBooks hosting and online accounting solution provider Swizznet is now offering cloud-hosted QuickBooks Point of Sale 2013 for both single and multi-lane environments.

The multi-lane capability allows retailers with more than one cash register to utilize the service, whether it's at multiple locations or multiple points of sale within one store. With multi-lane, retailers can utilize instant access to financial data that gives a complete picture of all of their sales and inventory from all points of sale.

QuickBooks Point of Sale 2013 includes Intuit's GoPayment mobile feature that allows a business to accept credit and debit cards on a mobile phone or tablet, with all mobile sales and inventory information synching with QuickBooks.

 

AVALARA TEAMS WITH KANSAS SOCIETY OF CPAS

Bainbridge Island, Wash. -- Sales and use tax software provider Avalara has formed a strategic alliance with the Kansas Society of CPAs. The company will provide society members access to a sales and use and value-added tax portal with educational tools and resources to help Kansas CPAs address client issues.

Avalara will also offer KSCPA members white papers on topics such as the taxability of digital goods and information on new concepts such as "omni-channel commerce," and up-to-date information on Internet sales tax legislation.
