ITA FORMS CIO ACADEMY

Scottsdale, Ariz. -- The Information Technology Alliance has created a new CIO Academy to educate chief information officers at the biggest CPA firms in North America. Twice a year during ITA meetings, experts will present deep-dive topics on emerging issues designed to educate CIOs and others with similar roles who work in the nation's 30 largest CPA firms outside of Big Four firms.

 

INTUIT RELEASES QUICKBOOKS ONLINE ACCOUNTANT

Mountain View, Calif. -- Intuit has made its new QuickBooks Online Accountant available to new users. The practice management solution includes a Client Dashboard, to help users manage their engagements and keep track of clients better. It is currently available to new customers, and will be rolled out to existing uses in January.

 

CONFIRMATION.COM TO ACQUIRE LEGALCONFIRM

Brentwood, Tenn. -- Online audit confirmation provider Confirmation.com has acquired LegalConfirm, a Maryland-based provider of electronic legal confirmations. LegalConfirm will relocate to Confirmation.com's headquarters in Brentwood, and LegalConfirm founder Payton Baran will oversee business development.

 

ACCOUNTING POWER ENHANCED

Hauppauge, N.Y. - AccountantsWorld has improved its Accounting Power cloud-based software to better accommodate smartphones and tablets. Enhancements include expanded tools for financial analytics, financial reporting capabilities, and a bill payment approval process.

 

SMARTVAULT LANDS $4.5 MN IN FUNDING

Houston -- Cloud-based document storage and sharing solution provider SmartVault has closed a $4.5 million round of funding, which will allow it to accelerate development efforts on its core services. The funding is backed by the founders of CyrusOne, and a group of the original investors from Softlayer.
