UHY holds annual 'Connect Program' in Albany

Top 100 Firm UHY Advisors and UHY LLP announced the completion of their 2018 Connect Program this week, which has accounting recruits meet with senior UHY staff members, as well as participate in a local charitable activity.

This year, students met with the managing partner from UHY's Albany office, among other senior staff members, and participated in panel and roundtable discussions over a day and a half of sessions.

“'Connect' allows students to network with employees at all levels at UHY Advisors,” said Steve Comer, senior accountant at UHY Advisors, per a statement. “My first interaction with UHY was through the ‘Connect Program.’ As a college student, I was able to chat with both partners and more junior employees at the event. The in-person meetings were more helpful than reading information online, and I really enjoyed the team-building event. After the event I was excited about future employment opportunities with UHY Advisors.”

This year’s volunteer event benefited the Capital City Rescue Mission in Albany, as students assembled and donated six adult bicycles. The organization provides food, clothing and transitional living programs to those in need in the greater Albany area.

“UHY takes pride in our history of over 50 years in the Capital Region and the philanthropic efforts we’ve put in place to support the community,” stated Howard Foote, UHY LLP's office managing partner, Capital Region. “We also place great value on the relationships we’ve built at the colleges and universities of the region, and recognize the talented career professionals they bring to the workforce. Our 'Connect Program' further strengthens UHY’s commitment to the community and fostering career opportunities.”
