Weineck Sanders Leventhal Expands Metro N.Y. Presence

New York (Jan. 13, 2004) -- Weinick Sanders Leventhal & Co. has expanded its Metro New York presence with the merger of Eichler, Bergsman & Co. into its fold.

Eichler’s four partners and 16 staff members merged into WSL earlier this month, bringing the number of partners to 19 and the total staff to about 98. WSL specializes in serving the apparel, real estate and securities industries.

As part of the merger, the firm formed the Eichler Bergsman Financial Services Division of WSL, a practice that specializes in audits of financial statements, as well as tax return preparation for investment partnerships, funds of funds, offshore investment funds, investment advisors and broker/dealers in securities. Maurice Berkower, partner-in-charge of EBFSD, said the move enabled the firm to retain its name recognition.

“The Eichler Bergman Financial Services practice was growing, and due to that growth, it was a natural move to merge into a larger firm,” said Berkower. The move enables the firm to leverage WSL’s resources, including its international affiliation and its information technology department, he said.
