Wipfli to Merge with Stirtz Bernards

Wausau, Wis. (Nov. 25, 2003) -- Unveiling its second merger in a month, Wipfli, a super-regional CPA and management consulting firm here, agreed to merge with Minneapolis-based Stirtz Bernards Boyden Surdel & Larter P.A, effective Dec. 1.

The union will add some 51 professionals to Wipfli, bringing its total workforce to roughly 600 and giving the firm a second office in the Twin Cities, increasing its total presence in Minnesota and Wisconsin to 18 offices.

The firm will now operate as Wipfli.

Wipfli said that going forward, the firm will work to grow specialty niches in financial institutions, health care, manufacturing, auto dealerships, non-profit organizations, real estate, and private financial services. 

On Nov. 1, Wipfli anncounced its merger with Madison, Wis.-based Williams Young LLC, a marriage that added 80 professionals.

Wipfli ranked No. 28 on Accounting Today’s Top 100 Firms list with revenues of $55.7 million.
