Certify Updates User Interface for T&E Expenses

Certify, which makes travel and entertainment expense management software, has redesigned its T&E expense reporting.

The new homepage is designed to guide users toward an optimal workflow and emphasizes actionable content, highlighting necessary actions to be taken by users in any role. A “new expense report” button has also been added, allowing users to create and submit expense reports from the homepage.

The Certify Wallet also received an interface update, allowing users can see the three most recent transactions displayed on their homepage along with the date, amount and other information. Certify Wallet now allows expense details to be sorted by date, amount, category, vendor and more.

Certify reports that it conducted 18 months of research to create an interface that prioritizes key information and expense reporting workflows. There is also no training required to begin using the new user interface.

The newly designed T&E reporting interface was rolled out last month, and users could switch between the old and new interface as needed. After considering user comments from the beta period, Certify has now made the new interface permanent.

“The most important part of any UX design is user persona definitions,” said Certify chief technology officer and co-founder, Alan Neveu, in a statement. “Our research and analysis identified four personas that account for 95 percent of Certify end users. Optimizing the layout and workflows for these personas allowed us to be sure we have designed a winning system, rather than just applying stylistic or artistic changes. Getting the user experience right is about research, analysis and best practices, and with this update we are excited to continue to deliver on the promise of travel and expense made easy.”
