Sikich Buys Tech Firm in SoCal

Top 100 Firm Sikich has struck a deal to acquire SCS, a technology firm based near Los Angeles in Glendale, Calif.

SCS offers ERP solutions across industries and specializes in Microsoft Dynamics NAV solutions. The company, founded in 1979, is also a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner with annual revenues of more than $9 million. In addition to its headquarters in Glendale, SCS has satellite offices in Phoenix and Las Vegas.

The deal is set to close Nov. 1.

This West Coast expansion is part of a larger strategy of growth for Sikich. Earlier this year, the company bought Akron, Ohio-based BCG & Co., a firm specializing in audit and assurance, tax, technology and wealth management services. Last year saw the acquisition of Altico Advisors, a tech firm located near Boston.

“The addition of SCS establishes a coast-to-coast presence for Sikich and will better position us to bring a broader suite of services to our West Coast clients,” said Jim Drumm, partner-in-charge of Sikich’s technology practice, in a statement. “With extensive experience helping companies improve business processes through ERP solutions, SCS will bring impressive talent to our team, expand our NAV capabilities and strengthen our robust technology practice.”

“Joining forces with Sikich greatly enhances our ability to serve our clients and creates new opportunities for our staff,” said Kolbeinn Einarsson, CEO of SCS, in a statement. “Together we will be one of the largest teams of Microsoft Dynamics NAV professionals in the country. We are excited to bring an expanded portfolio of services to our clients, along with an amazing team of experts in all aspects of Microsoft's business solutions. The acquisition gives us the ability to accelerate our growth in the West and continue to be a market leader.”

Sikich made it to No. 7 on Accounting Today’s 2016 VAR 100 list, while SCS was ranked No. 30.
