Bond Beebe incentivizes employees to "walk off" the tax season

D.C. metropolitan-area CPA and advisory firm Bond Beebe kicked off its first Tax Season Walking Challenge this week, encouraging employees and partners to get on their feet from Jan. 31-April 15.

Tracking their progress with pedometers and in six teams, participants will be recognized for the individual and team achievements they report on a weekly basis.

“Everyone here has been enthusiastic about the challenge; at a time of year when hours are long and self-care is neglected, we thought that encouraging a habit like walking would alleviate stress, improve health, encourage teamwork and boost morale,” said Cynthia Dietrich, Bond Beebe’s director of human resources, in a statement. “And even though some teams and individuals may take home some sort of prize, everyone truly wins by participating.”

The firm—which has offices in Bethesda, Md., and Alexandria, Va.—will reward employees for overall steps taken and increase in steps over the duration of the season at its annual tax party later this year.
