Connecticut Society of CPAs raises over $1.5K in 7th annual kickball tournament

The Connecticut Society of CPAs (CTCPA)New and Young Professionals Group recently held their seventh annual Charity Kickball Tournament in Plainville. Approximately 100 up-and-coming CPAs competed in friendly competition that resulted in $1,825 raised donations for theFoundation for Life, a non-profit organization seeking to improve the quality of life for families and individuals in the Northeast.

Glastonbury firmFiondella, Milone & LaSaracina took home first place, beating out West Hartford-based BlumShapiro in the championship. Other competitors included CIGNA; CohnReznick; King, King & Associates; KPMG; RSM US; and Whittlesey & Hadley.

Donations will be used to purchase bikes for local children in need. The tournament was primarily sponsored byCWPM, with additional sponsorship provided byBarnum Financial Group, theMSA at CCSU,Plainville Parks and Recreation, andJ.S. McCarthy Printers.

Founded in 1908, the CTCPA oversees approximately 6,000 current members across public practice, business and industry, government, and education.
