Intuit Teams with the Hartford on Workers' Comp

Mountain View, Calif. (January 9, 2009)

By WebCPA staff

Intuit has partnered with insurance company The Hartford on a Web-based service that processes workers' compensation insurance premiums for small businesses.

The alliance will offer The Hartford's XactPay Web service to Intuit's payroll customers free of charge. The Hartford in turn will market Intuit's payroll service to its small business commercial agents.

XactPay Web automatically calculates the premiums for Hartford-issued workers' compensation policies each time payroll is run via QuickBooks Payroll. Payments are then automatically drawn from the employer's bank account each pay period, eliminating the hassle of writing checks. Upon request, employers can receive e-mail notifications before payments are made, as well as monthly detailed reports from The Hartford.
