Sage and Deltek reseller and technology consultant BCS ProSoft has purchased the Deltek Vision practice from Forepoint Inc., effectively growing its staff and customer base for the enterprise resource planning product.

The acquisition adds two additional employees and 200 Deltek Vision customers to BCS ProSoft, and increases the firm’s footprint throughout the country.

According to BCS ProSoft chief executive Clark Haley, Forepoint president Kevin Cumley approached him several months ago with the opportunity to acquire Forepoint’s Deltek Vision practice, and they worked out a mutually beneficial deal.

“Our long-term strategy is to continue to build out our Deltek Vision practice,” said Haley. “With the addition of the Forepoint customer base and staff, we are positioned for further expansion in the Mountain States, on the West Coast, and in Hawaii. While Kevin will no longer be involved in the business on a day-to-day basis, he has agreed to make himself available for special projects.”

Cumley sold his Sage Accpac practice in 2010 to major Sage partner Net@Work Inc. He retained his Deltek practice until recently and plans to focus on consulting and business development, particularly around cloud-based offerings.

“After 25 years of doing on-premise ERP, I decided it was time for a change, and to be honest try to find something more interesting and fun,” said Cumley. “The process started with the sale of our Sage practice to Net@Work. Since that time I’ve become increasingly interested in cloud-based solutions, which I believe is the future of our industry. I made the Deltek move with BCS to allow more time to focus on cloud opportunities. I’ll assist [BCS] for a period of time to help ensure a smooth transition.”

Cumley added that he will continue to work with AZ Technology Solutions to help build its Intacct practice. He is also engaged in consulting work with Avectra, a cloud-based membership management software provider, to help them develop a channel in North America as well as facilitate “a more in-depth relationship between their company and Intacct,” he said.
