FAF Extends Roundtable Application Deadline

The Financial Accounting Foundation, overseer of the Financial Accounting Standards Board and the Governmental Accounting Standards Board, has pushed back to Jan. 6, 2012, the deadline for submitting applications to participate in private company accounting standards roundtable discussions scheduled for January, February and March.

The roundtables, which are intended to improve the process of setting accounting standards for private companies, will focus on the FAF's previously released proposal to establish a Private Company Standards Improvement Council.

Individuals or organizations representing private company stakeholders should complete and submit an online application form by Jan. 6, 2012, along with a comment letter.

The first roundtable is scheduled for January 18 in Atlanta. Subsequent cities and dates include January 26 in Dallas/Fort Worth; February 7 at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif.; and March 1 in Boston.
