Armanino Consulting, the tech consultancy of Top 100 accounting firm Armanino McKenna, has become an Intacct reseller, in addition to representing competitor Microsoft Dynamics GP and AX, which it has done for 12 years.

Tom Mescall

Armanino has already successfully deployed Intacct to a wide range of clients in its Outsourced Accounting practice, which assists organizations that prefer not to hire a full-time controller, CFO or finance staff. Armanino offers Intacct to these companies as a collaborative financial management system that is simultaneously accessed over the Internet by both firm and client personnel.

“Within our consulting service, we have a vibrant outsourcing practice, which is for smaller companies that don’t want to have a CFO/payroll practice,” said Armanino Consulting partner-in-charge Tom Mescall. “In 2009, as a part of that practice, we started working with Intacct and moved our clients on to [Intacct]. It’s a big part of our outsourced accounting strategy.”

“Intacct has impressed us with their VAR program to help sell the solution and implement it, so that opportunity was recently posed to us,” Mescall added. “We like them and the technology as it offers a broad applicability for SMBs who need to embrace the functionality they need from the cloud.”

Mescall also explained that he does not expect much conflict between the firm’s established Dynamics business and the developing Intacct practice, as he believes the target markets for the respective products differ enough that there won’t likely be much overlap.

Armanino currently has several staff members devoted to representing Intacct, according to Mescall, while 50 staff members are affiliated with the Dynamics practice.

As for Intacct, the company will assist Armanino in marketing and selling the product to the firm’s clients and in developing new applications and vertical solutions.

“Top CPA firms like Armanino McKenna have enjoyed tremendous success leveraging Intacct to deliver Outsourced Accounting services to thousands of their clients,” said Intacct vice president of channels Taylor Macdonald. “With the mainstream adoption of cloud computing, visionary firms like Armanino McKenna have recognized that there are massive benefits to be gained by standardizing on Intacct across both consulting and outsourcing practices. We are thrilled with this expansion of our already successful partnership.”
