Latest Workday Payroll Release Offers Significant Enhancements

SaaS-based human resources, payroll, and financial management product maker Workday Inc. has released Workday 16, which offers more than 128 new enhancements and features including HTML5 for mobile.

All current Workday customers receive updates free of charge as part of their regular SaaS subscriptions.

The new Workday for Mobile feature delivers support for the mobile Web with HTML5, which in addition to iPad and iPhone enhancements offers a new touch-optimized interface at m.myworkday.com for mobile platforms such as Android, BlackBerry, Symbian, and Windows Phone.

Workday 16 also offers financial and spend management improvements, including enhanced supplier contract management and deep analytics that allow users to drill down and track spending against supplier contracts. The new release also has advanced asset management features, whereby business assets can now be managed throughout their entire physical and accounting lifecycles.

For HR managers, Workday 16 has a new onboarding process that allows organizations to automate new hire paperwork, including I-9 forms and benefits open enrollment documents, as well as the ability to track the employee onboarding progress and tasks via a status summary matrix.

In addition, Workday can now process payroll for enterprises with more than 100,000 workers. This enhancement allows global and very large organizations with complex and intensive payroll processes to effectively and accurately pay their workforce.
