The Accountants Confidence Index took a slight dip in September, countering a slight rise in August -- though both the short-term and the mid-term figures remained in sync.
The ACI, published by Accounting Today in partnership with ADP, is a monthly economic indicator that leverages the insights of accountants into the strength and prospects of businesses in the U.S. The 3-Month ACI came in at 50.36, down from 51.13 last month, while the 6-Month ACI hit 52.73, down from 53.95. The 50 mark separates predictions of growth from predictions of decline.
The index components mostly down, with particularly large drops of three points in both the short-term and the mid-term forecasts for our panels large-business clients.
