Right Networks turns QuickBooks Desktop to 'Always On'

Right Networks is deploying its recently-acquired Autofy integration platform into the company’s hosted QuickBooks Desktop environment. According to Right Networks, this deployment transforms the hosted QBD platform to make it operationally similar to QuickBooks Online.

Autofy integrates QuickBooks products with online sales platforms including SalesForce, Amazon and Shopify to make e-commerce workflow easier. The technology allows QBD users who host their platform on Right Networks access to 24/7 data transfer and synchronization between QuickBooks Desktop and the variety of third-party SaaS applications they may use. Right Networks calls this capability “Always On” because applications can now automatically transfer data to and from QuickBooks Desktop company files anytime, around-the-clock, even when a user is not logged in.

“With the deployment of Autofy, Right Networks has created an applications ecosystem for QuickBooks Desktop which is in every way equivalent to, and as capable as, that of QuickBooks Online,” said Joel Hughes, CEO of Right Networks, in a statement. “Independent software vendors can integrate to the web-based Autofy application programming interface to gain 24/7 access to QuickBooks company files, whether they are QuickBooks Online files or QuickBooks Desktop files hosted in the Right Networks cloud.”

Always On has implications for companies who need third-shift workers, mobile workers, overnight inventory synchronization, or scheduled, automatic monthly financial reports used by banks and lenders.
