SAP Loses ByDesign VP, Gains Global On-Demand Head

SAP has confirmed that North American Business ByDesign vice president Frank Iannotti has resigned from the company after more than seven years to pursue other opportunities.

Iannotti was responsible for the North American strategy, operations and overall execution of the SAP On-Demand division, which included SAP Business ByDesign – the company’s SaaS ERP product. Since joining SAP, Iannotti was responsibility for managing teams across SAP’s traditional software, maintenance and services lines of business.

Until a successor is found, the ByDesign sales team in North America will report directly to SAP North America senior VP of ecosystems and channels Kevin Gilroy.

“Frank’s departure is part of normal company attrition and we thank him for his great passion for building the ByDesign business in North America,” said Gilroy. “Business ByDesign continues to see strong demand in the marketplace, in no small part because of the robust pipeline created by our partners. As the solution matures, we are also seeing larger companies using it and larger deal sizes.”

Just prior to Iannotti’s departure, SAP hired Greg Tomb to head the new Global On-Demand Sales and Go-to-Market organization, as the company looks to expands its on-demand portfolio to additional applications for specific countries and industries.

Most recently, Tomb served as president and chief executive of Vivido Mobile Inc., an on-demand mobile applications company and certified partner of SAP. Prior to this work, Tomb held a number of senior roles at SAP, including president of SAP North America and executive vice president leading both the Field Services organization for the Americas and the Enterprise Sales organization in the United States.
