Deloitte UK is planning voluntary job cuts across its audit business as the firm has grappled with low levels of attrition and stagnant revenue.

The firm is offering voluntary redundancy packages to a number of staffers in response to low levels of staff attrition in its audit practice, a spokesperson for Deloitte said in an emailed statement.

The plans could affect as many as 175 auditors, including managers and assistant managers, a person with knowledge of the matter said, who asked not to be identified discussing private information.

Many consulting and accounting firms are looking to job cuts to counteract lower levels of natural turnover. Deloitte's Big Four rival KPMG laid off hundreds of auditors this year, citing a lack of staff attrition due to a tough jobs market.

Deloitte UK laid off consultants in 2024 and cut support staff last year in response to a slow advisory market.

Deloitte partners in the U.K. and Switzerland received an average pay rise of 4% for the financial year ended May 2025, with average compensation at £1.05 million ($1.4 million).

The firm's overall revenue fell 1% to £5.68 billion during that year, while revenue on its audit and assurance business grew 3% to £969 million.
