With an estimated 75 percent of CPAs expected to retire over the next 15 years, according to the AICPA, CPA firms are under pressure to recruit and retain a sufficient number of young accountants to keep the business going.

The AICPA named Dr. Mark Dirsmith as the winner of the 2015 AICPA Distinguished Achievement in Accounting Education Award on Friday. He was honored at the annual meeting of the American Accounting Association (AAA), in Chicago.
