Emerging Channels Capabilities Executive

Michael Upton is the Technology Enablement and Process Design Strategy Emerging Channels Capabilities executive at Bank of America. In this role, he is responsible for ePlatform strategies with a focus on Online Payments and Mobile Commerce for the Consumer Banking and eChannels and Customer Solutions organization at Bank of America.Upton joined Bank of America in 2006 as the ePayments product executive and was promoted to the ePlatform strategies role in 2009.During his tenure with Bank of America, Upton has held a number of eCommerce executive and leadership roles including; product management of online banking, mobile banking, money movement (bill pay, transfers, P2P and online wires),security and authentication (Sitekey, malware defense) and eCommunication (search, chat, alerts and e-mail).Prior to joining the bank, Upton was chief operating officer at Harbor Payments in Atlanta, Georgia. In that role, he was responsible for all corporate operations including technical data center operations, product development and support services for the companies, online payment products, eLockBox, Account Receivable and Accounts Payable, Corporate Cash Management & Disbursements and Insurance Payments. Prior to his time at Harbor Payments, Upton was the senior vice president and general manager of online banking and ePayments at Fidelity National, providing products and services to more than 2,000 financial institution customers. Upton graduated from Oregon State University where he majored in communication and political science law.Upton and his family reside in Charlotte, N.C.
