Robert A. DeAngelis

Robert A. DeAngelis is Executive Vice President and Consumer/ Small Business Segment Leader for Key Community Banking. He is responsible for developing client strategies and programs for our Consumer and Small Business customer segments, collaborating closely with Community Banking’s sales leaders to deliver these strategies in their local markets. In this capacity, DeAngelis is accountable for Key’s Consumer Credit and Payment Products, Integrated Channel Management, Mortgage, and Key Investment Services organizations. He is a member of the Bank’s Executive Council and plays a leadership role on a range of cross-enterprise activities including the development and implementation of the Bank’s Payments Strategy. Prior to joining Key, DeAngelis had a 10-year plus career with Wachovia Corporation and its predecessors. He was instrumental in developing and executing its retail customer strategy, which focused on client acquisition, growth, retention and loyalty. DeAngelis also led Wachovia’s Client Insight organization, working with each line of business to develop and execute revenue programs to better drive organic growth. Prior to Wachovia, DeAngelis completed similar assignments at Richmond-based Signet Banking Corporation, which merged with First Union National Bank in 1997. He also served as a Senior Manager of KPMG Peat Marwick’s Corporate Transactions Services consulting practice in Chicago and, prior to that, it’s Financial Services consulting practice. DeAngelis began his career at Mellon Bank, where he helped evaluate emerging technologies to drive business strategy. DeAngelis earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University. In addition, he is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). As a resident of Cleveland, DeAngelis supports a variety of local organizations, serving in leadership roles on the Board of Directors of the Positive Education Program (PEP) and the MetroHealth System Foundation.
