The AICPA and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) announced on Tuesday that they have expanded their AICPA-CIMA Competency and Learning website to support all major practice areas in management accounting and public accounting with new learning resources and competency-development tools.

The AICPA announced this week that Danielle Supkis Cheek, president of D. Supkis Cheek in Houston and adjunct professor at Rice University, was named winner of the Outstanding Young CPA Award in Honor of Maximo Mukelabai. KPMG announced on Thursday a partnership with The Ohio State University Max M. Fisher College of Business and the Villanova School of Business to develop new master's degree programs focusing on data and analytics (D&A) in accounting. Dubbed the "KPMG Master of Accounting with Data and Analytics Program," KPMG is looking to "develop auditors in the digital age."

Last month, from July 24-29, twenty-eight high school juniors and seniors across Massachusetts took part in Careers in Accounting and Management Professions, or CAMP - a specialized summer camp for students interested in accounting and business careers, Wicked Local reports.

According to a recent poll from staffing firm Robert Half, more and more professionals are getting support from their employers to continue their education. A majority of polled CFOs (72 percent) said their company covers some to all of the cost for their staff to obtain professional certifications.

UC Berkeley Extension announced this week that they have exclusively partnered with Roger CPA Review for the school’s CPA Examination Preparation course series. Beginning September 2016, CPA candidates at Berkeley will be able to earn up to 4 academic credits (1 per course) while prepping with Roger's course materials.
