UHY Advisors, West Haven, announced that its strategic partnership with the City of West Haven to prepare a five-year recovery plan was approved by the Connecticut Municipal Accountability Review Board on Nov. 1. The approval of the plan, developed to provide assistance in the city’s financial situation, means West Haven in now approved for supplemental state funds.

Deloitte announced that registration is open for its 2019 National Multistate Tax Symposium, a forum covering the latest developments and current issues in the areas of state and local taxes. Deborah Friedland (pictured, at right), managing director of the corporate finance group at EisnerAmper, New York, received the Mid-Sized Transaction of the Year honor from the Turnaround Management Association. The award recognized Friedland for leading a transaction team that worked on Illinois-based hotel the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center, implementing a Chapter 11 reorganization plan that included the successful restructuring of bond debt, revitalization of the property, and navigation of a creditor challenge.
