Firms on the move: NJCPA to award over $400K in scholarships

Warren Averett Asset Management and Kinsight merge; BDO Alliance adds Fulcrum Partners; and more news from CPA offices across the country.

ALABAMA

Warren Averett Asset Management, Birmingham, merged in independent registered investment advisor Kinsight to create the largest fee-only financial planning and investment advisory firm in Alabama, with combined assets under management of more than $2.2 billion. Kinsight will operate under the name Warren Averett Asset Management and maintain their location off Lakeshore Drive in Birmingham.

ARIZONA

Lohman Company, Mesa, was named the No. 1 accounting firm in Ranking Arizona’s The Best of Arizona Business 2017 Accounting Firms with six to 33 CPAs.

FLORIDA

Fulcrum Partners, a national executive benefits advisory based in Ponte Vedra, joined the BDO Alliance USA as an independent member.

FRANCE

Segeco, Lyon, joined the Europe, Middle East & Africa Region of global association PrimeGlobal.

3G Gadras & Associes, Artigues Près Bordeaux, joined the Europe, Middle East & Africa Region of global association PrimeGlobal as a member firm.

GEORGIA

Aprio was named a 2017 Top Workplace by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, which recognizes 150 Atlanta businesses annually based on employee feedback, this year choosing from a pool of 2,500 nominated companies.

ISRAEL

Yaron-Eldar, Paller, Schwartz & Co., Tel Aviv and Haifa, a law firm that specializes in taxation law, has joined Andersen Global, the international entity of tax and legal services, as a collaborating firm.

MASSACHUSSETS

Rodman CPAs is hosting a seminar May 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at their office, 51 Sawyer Road, Suite 610 in Waltham, to help bookkeepers and others understand the basics of accounting.

Baker Newman Noyes, Boston, was named to the Boston Business Journal’s list of the largest accounting firms in Massachusetts.

MEXICO

Zárate Scherenberg y Compañia S.C., Oaxaca de Juárez City, joined the Latin America and Caribbean Region of global association PrimeGlobal as a member firm.

NEW JERSEY

The New Jersey Society of CPAs, Roseland, will be awarding $410,000 in scholarships to more than 80 students in New Jersey, granted to high school seniors set to enroll in in a program with a major or concentration in accounting in the upcoming semester, New Jersey college juniors majoring in accounting who are entering their senior year, and seniors who are entering an accounting-related graduate program. The 57th Annual Scholarship Award Ceremony will be held April 25 at the Pines Manor in Edison.

PENNSYLVANIA

McCarthey & Co., Lafayette Hill, was named a Top 30 Accounting Firm by the Philadelphia Business Journal. The firm is also celebrating its 50th anniversary of being in business.
