On the move: Forvis awards scholarships at NABA event

Grant Thornton, Chicago, appointed: Sean Denham as regional managing partner, Atlantic Coast; Carlos Ferreira as regional managing partner, Northeast; Nichole Jordan as regional managing partner, Texoma; Mark Margulies as regional managing partner, Southeast; Tony Perazzo as regional managing partner, West; David Platt as regional managing partner, Central; Greg Westfall as national managing principal for private equity; Jeanna Shapiro as chief people and community officer; Omri Avdi as chief sales officer; David Hazels to managing partner for the shared-services center in Bangalore, India; and Greg Wallig, currently market managing principal for Washington, D.C., in the additional role as head of public policy.

INDIANA

The Indiana CPA Society, Indianapolis, selected the students for this year's Indiana CPA Educational Foundation Scholarship. The new class of scholarship recipients that will receive a total of $18,500 are: Galina Blomenkamp, graduate student, Purdue University; Cooper Davis, junior, Indiana University Bloomington; Macie Hadley, junior, Marian University; Jessica Luna-Tovar, sophomore, Marian University; Kirsten Markey, senior, IUPUI / Indiana University Indianapolis; Matthew Organ, graduate student, Butler University; and, Austin Ramirez, sophomore, Indiana University Kokomo. Additionally, seven previous scholarship recipients have met their renewal criteria and are receiving an additional year of funding: Alexis Bergman, senior, Grace College; Anna Hulstedt, senior, Grace College; Levi Marcum, senior, Indiana Wesleyan University; Malayna Pottschmidt, graduate student, Butler University; Chloe Schramm, senior, Grace College; Sophia Villacorta, senior, Indiana University; and Alejandra Ruesga Garcia, senior, Marian University. 

Blue & Co., Carmel, was ranked as one of the 2023 Best Employers in Ohio by Best Companies Group.

Forvis, Springfield, awarded two $10,000 college scholarships during the National Association of Black Accountants' 2023 National Convention & Expo in New Orleans. The scholarships were bestowed to Sierra Wilder, a student at High Point University in High Point, North Carolina, and Brett Bauer, a student at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland.

NEW JERSEY

Withum, Princeton, announced the next board of leadership in its Women of Withum Team Member Resource Group, taking the helm July 1: Caroline Kettering, partner, director of coaching and talent development; Lena Combs, partner, practice leader, hospitality services; Rebecca Perreault-Alicea, principal; and Brenna Liana, senior marketing coordinator.

Fabienne Colignon was elected chair of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board Consultative Advisory Group, New York, for a three-year term.

Héctor Lehuedé, independent consultant and a lawyer based in Santiago, Chile, was appointed to the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants by the Public Interest Oversight Board.
