CALIFORNIA

Jill Kitchin was named audit director at Hood & Strong, San Francisco, where she has worked since 2003.

Jeffrey Unalp, founder of Unalp CPA Group, earned the American Institute of CPAs’ badge for completing the Not-For-Profit (NFP) certificate program.

FLORIDA

David Uslan was appointed the newest shareholder at Saltmarsh, Cleaveland & Gund, Pensacola, where he will work alongside shareholder Frank Riehle to guide the growth and expansion of the firm's tax and accounting practice.

INDIANA

Carli DePue and Mark Huston were hired as R&D tax credit consultants at McGuire Sponsel, Indianapolis.

KANSAS

Shane Harper and Tyler Wooldridge were hired as associates, and Esmeralda Quintanar was hired as an administrative assistant, at Lewis, Hooper & Dick, Garden City.

MARYLAND

Timothy Connole was hired as a senior accountant in the audit department at DeLeon & Stang CPAs and Advisors, Gaithersburg.

MASSACHUSETTS

Steve Ingram was appointed partner in the Boston office of RSM US LLP, located in Charlestown, where he will focus primarily on emerging growth and middle market companies in the technology and life science industries.

MISSOURI

Kristina Cassone was hired as state and local tax associate and Eli Colmenero as a staff associate, in the insurance area, in the specialty services department of MarksNelson, Kansas City. Additionally, Zach Large was hired as staff accountant in the tax department after completing an internship with the firm in 2016.

NEW HAMPSHIRE

Nathan Wechsler & Co., Concord, announced four promotions: Matthew Nadeau to manager; Toni Mitrano to associate; and Joshua Parker and Michael Tucker to supervising seniors.

NEW YORK

Brian Gordon was appointed director at Gettry Marcus, Woodbury, where he will focus on residency, sales tax and nexus issues, New York State tax audit and controversy representation.

Leonard Lubin and Sheru Kagalwalla were promoted to directors in the audit services group at Friedman LLP, Uniondale and New York City, respectively.

Mark Martin and Mark Horowitz were hired as direct-entry principals and Tracy Gomes as a managing director in the economic and valuation services tax practice at KPMG, joining from the law firm McDermott Will and Emery. Martin, Horowitz and Gomes are part of a team of five attorneys and two economists that moved from McDermott to KPMG.

NORTH CAROLINA

Greg Ross was named national managing partner for the construction, real estate, hospitality and restaurants industry practice at Grant Thornton, Charlotte. Ross, who currently leads that practice in the Carolinas and is sector leader for the national real estate practice, succeeds Alvin Wade, who led since 2009.

PENNSYLVANIA

Kimberly Iaconelli was promoted to director in the tax services group at Friedman LLP, Philadelphia.

Hunter Mink, manager in the audit services group at RKL, York, was recognized as one of the 2017 Forty Under 40 by Central Penn Business Journal, celebrating Central Pennsylvania’s best and brightest young leaders, to be awarded at an October 2 ceremony in Harrisburg.

Michael Jones was hired as senior manager at Stephano Slack, Wayne.

RHODE ISLAND

Michael King, Lauren Cavaco and Yana Leonard were hired as staff accountants in the accounting and auditing department, and Symantha Davies and Griffin Waitkus were hired as staff accountants in the tax department, of Restivo Monacelli, Providence.

SOUTH CAROLINA

John “Jay” Ashworth was hired as a senior in the assurance and advisory services department at Scott and Co., Columbia.

Jesse Torres was hired as an audit senior and Karmyn Jeffries as audit senior manager at ABIP, Houston.

Weaver announced the promotions of seven professionals to partner: Cory Bunyard in tax and strategic business services in Houston; Dan Graves in risk advisory services in Austin; Shelby Lackey in assurance services in Conroe; Reema Parappilly in IT advisory services in Houston; Aracely Rios in assurance services in Dallas; Jon Roberts in tax and strategic businesses services in Houston; and Sarah Roberts in assurance services in Houston.

UNITED KINGDOM

Nili Shah was appointed executive technical director at the IFRS Foundation, London. Shah has had nearly 20 years of experience with IFRS standards.
