Clarus R&D launches Version 2.0, as well as new tools for crypo tax calculations; updates to FinancialForce; a chance to win a Tesla Model 3; and more technology tools and news for the accounting profession.

Just as research & development credit compliance is getting more complex, the R&D experts at Clarus R+D have launched Version 2.0 of their R&D tax credit platform, which brings together cloud-based software and the company's compliance expertise to help users at businesses of all sizes, as well as accountants and tax pros, to more easily and efficiently handle the documentation, reporting and filing requirements behind claiming the R&D credit — all with the ultimate goal of maximizing the refunds users can claim.

FlyFin, an artificial intelligence-based tax engine for the self-employed, has launched a free Crypto Tax Calculator that lets users capture multiple crypto-transactions to determine how much tax they owe. They can then use FlyFin's tax engine to file their crypto taxes — and don't forget, there's a filing deadline coming up at the middle of this month!

FinancialForce updates

Salesforce-based ERP system provider FinancialForce announced its Winter 2022 release, with a host of new features and enhancements, including the ability to include local general ledge accounts in financial statement creation; support for multi-entity reporting for Spain and France in the Financial Report Builder, as well as the ability to export to PDF and create aged analysis reports; and more.

Payments and expense management solutions provider Expensify announced its ExpensifyApproved! Tesla Challenge, in which accountants who are members of the ExpensifyApproved! Accountant Program can improve their chances of winner a Tesla Model 3 by assigning activated Expensify Cards to their clients until April 25.

Bill.com released "Bookkeeping Rebooted," the third installment of its State of Bookkeeping Practices Survey, which found, among other things, that the overwhelming majority (84%) of bookkeepers expect to increase their revenue in the coming year, and 69% expect to add employees to their teams.

Earmark announced Version 0.0.3 of its podcast-based CPE app, with improved CPE certificate email design; increased device sleep time so users' devices won't go to sleep while an episode is playing in the app; an improved user experience; and more, including more new free CPE courses.
