If you are thinking about putting away some money, where you live can make quite a difference, as some states are more conducive to saving than others. 

To find out where it is the easiest to save money, states were rated across four categories — debt and income, cost of living, housing and taxes — to come up with a total score out of 100, where the lower the score, the easier it is to save.  

In the list below, the best state to be a saver has a total score of 0. Scroll through to find out which states are in the best 20 for saving.
