These things, once on the bleeding edge of accounting technology, can now be found everywhere, from the biggest international firm to the smallest local practice. That the profession is driven not by paper and pen but by bits and bytes can no longer be in doubt: This is a technological profession for a technological age, a far cry from the days when just putting up a website was seen as the height of sophistication.
