Vertex intros solution for VAT calculation and reporting

Vertex has introduced Taxamo Assure, which facilitates the successful completion of online sales by e-commerce sellers in the European Union. Assure is designed to help sellers ensure their covered sales are in full compliance with the process of value-added tax calculation and reporting obligations for parcels worth 150 euros or less, as new VAT rules for e-commerce transactions to the EU went into effect July 1, 2021.

Taxamo Assure automates real-time VAT calculations and reporting obligations, and can integrate with sellers’ existing e-commerce sales processes and software.

DataRails gets $43.5 million in Series A funding for FP&A software

DataRails, which makes financial planning and analysis software for small and midsized organizations, has secured a $43.5 million Series A funding round, which has doubled the company’s valuation. The company raised $18.5 million in April. The $25 million in additional capital raised by the company will be used to manage its rapid expansion, which has doubled its valuation and customer base within four months.

BKDforesight creators earn firm’s innovation award

BKD CPAs & Advisors has named its own BKDforesight winner of its 2021 Innovation of the Year award. The product is a dynamic financial modeling platform designed to forecast financial statements, benchmarks and other metrics over a multiyear planning horizon.

BKDforesight was developed through the collaborative efforts of the firm’s health care industry practice and BKD’s innovation program, BKD Edge, which was created in 2018 to identify the complex problems facing clients and encourage new products, services and market ideas to solve those problems.

The 2021 Innovation of the Year Award is voted on by members of BKD’s Growth and Innovation Governance Committee. BKD CEO Tom Watson presented the award to director Andrea Sartin, partner David Taylor, director Eric Lopata and other members of the BKDforesight project during his state of the firm address.

AvidXchange creates integration with software for construction industry

AvidXchange, which makes accounts payable software, has created an integration between AvidPay and TimberScan. AvidPay is an AP solution, and TimberScan, made by Core Associates, performs similar functions but specifically for the construction industry. Together the solutions are meant to create a complete purchase to pay solution for construction companies.
