American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants
The American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants is comprised of professionals dually qualified as both Attorneys and Certified Public Accountants. The AAA-CPA offers an array of products and services to help members succeed in their practice such as; networking and referral opportunities; national and chapter meetings; and continuing education credit.

AICPA
The American Institute of CPAs' mammoth web site is continually updated and expanded, offering CPAs and other tax and accounting professionals a vast wealth of information to use for their practices, including free online access to the association's Journal of Accountancy and other publications.

AICPA - The Enron Crisis & Aftermath
This portion of the AICPA's Web site is devoted to the institute's response to the accounting profession crisis brought on by Enron. You'll find background material, official AICPA statements and member communications, periodic newsletter updates, congressional testimony, and more.

Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors
A national organization serving the educational and resource needs of the M&A profession. Its more than 350 members, half of whom hold the group's CM & AA designation, represent sellers and buyers of businesses with up to $100 million in transaction value.

Alliott Group
An international network of independent accounting, consulting and legal firms. Site offers basic group info, in English and Spanish, and a member locater.

American Accounting Association
The home page for the American Accounting Association (AAA) offers some good links to other WWW sites and lets you access news about the AAA, its publications, etc.

Andersen Alumni
This site, set up by alumni of the defunct Big Five firm, offers former employees an opportunity to keep in touch, network, find jobs, share success stories and more.

Association of Certified Fraud Examiners
The 26,000-member ACFE offers the Certified Fraud Examiner accreditation. Their site has links, products, services, CPE and more.

Association of College and University Auditors
ACUA is an international professional body for auditors in higher education. Check out their site for membership info, libraries and publications, an events calendar and more.

Association for Computers and Taxation
If you're a tax practitoner and want to stay on the cutting edge of tax technology, joining the ACT may be a great investment. The nonprofit group is dedicated to "helping tax professionals better automate the corporate tax function" The site includes tax and technology updates, virus alerts, and a job bank.

Association for Financial Professionals
The AFP's 15,000 members are CFOs, treasurers, controllers and financial executives from over 5,000 corporations and organizations. The group offers training, certification and exposure, and provides news, publications, resources, a job center, financial tools, conferences and more on its Web site.

BDO Seidman Alliance
Click on the "Alliances" link on BDO Seidman's home page to learn more about the firm's association, which focuses on U.S.-based accounting and consulting firms.

BKR International
Another association of independent firms, this one with over 120 members in over 300 locations worldwide. The site provides membership benefit info, a firm finder, and a newsletter. Plus, they accept resumes for consideration throughout the association.

Certified Management Accountants of Canada
The site of the professional body of Canada's 33,000 certified management accountants.

COSO - The Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission
COSO, an independent, private sector group dedicated to improving the quality of financial reporting and business ethics, was formed by the AAA, AICPA, FEI, IIA and IMA. Its site offers publications, articles conference info, and more.

CPA2Biz
This portal, developed by the AICPA, has evolved into a valuable information resource for tax and accounting professionals. A powerful search engine groups results according to relevant sections on the site, and in addition to paying dues and ordering literature online, the site is filled with hundreds of topical articles and resource guides, including the Journal of Accountancy.

CPAmerica
A worldwide network of independent accounting firms founded in 1978 (and formerly known as Accounting Firms Associated). Services include CPE courses, professional training, annual conferences for member networking, peer and practice reviews, surveys and client newsletters, brochures and other professional marketing products. They also tax tips and a CPA directory for the general public.

CPA Network
CPA Network claims to be a "different kind of accounting association," one that has produced millions of dollars of new business for its members, "92% at higher fees." Sounds great, but you need to be a member password to learn anything more out of the site.

CPASNET.COM
CPASNET is a consortium of accounting and business consulting firms throughout the U.S. The site offers member benefit info, a newsletter called "Make More Money," and online CPE for members.

DFK International/USA
DFK International is a worldwide association of independent accounting firms and business advisers based in the U.K. The site includes a membership directory, a newsletter and basic info on the association.

Financial Accounting Standards Board
An efficient and comprehensive way of accessing FASB, this home page contains a wealth of information and documents on the standards-setting body. You can also obtain product, pricing, and order info for FASB pubs, and e-mail addresses of FASB personnel.

Financial Executives International
A professional association for senior-level financial executives, FEI offers news, networking, a job board, a resume bank, online education and more on its site.

Forensic Accountants Society of North America
A nationwide network of accounting firms that have a strong focus on forensic accounting, and also serves as a support resource in the forensic accounting industry. The site includes member info and their monthly publication.

GMN Enterprise
The site of another international network of independent firms, this one includes a nifty events calender, tax updates for wide range of countries, and a directory of members.

HLB International/HLB USA
A worldwide organisation of accounting firms and business advisors from over 90 countries. Site includes a large collection of articles and publications, as well as contact and services info.

Horwath International
This organization of accounting and business consulting firms has over 110 member in over 460 cities worldwide. The site is searchable, and includes online ordering of Horwath publications, a directory, and info on the organization's specialty areas, such as hotels, tourism and leisure, and franchise services.

Information Technology Alliance
The ITA is a membership association of firms and companies that develop, deliver and/or support of technology solutions for small and mid-sized businesses. Check out their Web site for information on upcoming events and for ITA Connection, the group's monthly newsletter.

Inpact Americas
A nonprofit association of firms that focuses on practice management issues. The site includes a member directory, a conference calendar, and accounting news.

Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales
The largest professional accountancy body in Europe with 122,000 members, the ICAEW is the U.K.'s version of the AICPA, and offers a similar huge range of resources, including a vast library, tons of links, resources, professional standards info, a student center, and much, much more.

Institute of Management Accountants
The IMA is devoted to helping those in management accounting and financial management through education, certification and networking with fellow professionals. This extensive site includes CPE opportunities, a job bank, publications and much more.

The Institute of Management and Administration
IOMA's home page features lots of articles, resources, free e-newsletters, buyers' guides, forums and much more.

International Association of Practising Accountants
U.K.-based organization with member firms in over 100 cities. The site includes a member locater, news, a B2B directory, and group info.

International Federation of Accountants
IFAC, which aims to harmonize the profession's worldwide standards, has over 150 members in over 110 countries. This site is designed to provide resources for international standards and guidance in the areas of auditing, education, ethics, financial and management accounting, information technology and public sector accounting.

International Group of Accounting Firms
This network of independent firms (with over 125 members in 59 countries) offers an online newsletter, a member directory, and membership benefits info on its site.

Jeffreys Henry International
JHI has over 80 members firms in 40 countries. Its site has an events calendar, various publications, member info, and news and updates.

Kreston International
A U.K.-based network of independent firms. Its site offers group info and a member directory for non-members, and a password-required section for members.

MSI Legal & Accounting Network
Another U.K.-based global network of independent professional firms, including lawyers, accountants, tax consultants, business advisers, and off-shore service providers. Their site is searchable, and offers a member directory and some publications, as well as wealth of resources for companies and entrepreneurs looking to operate outside their traditional marketplaces.

National Association of Enrolled Agents
The professional association of EAs offers a wealth of excellent tax news for both taxpayers and practitioners, as well as info on conferences and regulation, and an online store. Check out the EA golf shirts, and framed ethics plaques!

National Society of Accountants
The NSA is a leading trade group and professional association for independent practitioners. The site has lots of resources for consumers and professionals, including an accountant-locater, professional education info, classified ads, financial calculators, events calenders, and much, much more.

National Association of Personal Financial Advisors
This professional association of financial planners, with its strict dedication to fee-only services (no commissions, referral fees or other sources of revenue that might create a conflict of interest), has many CPAs and accountants as members. The site offers NAPFA's fiduciary oath, as well as member resources, an events calendar, consumer services and more.

National Tax Association
The NTA is an academic organization devoted to tax theory and research, and their web site is chock full of resources on anything and everything to do with taxes.

Polaris International
An association of independent accounting firms worldwide, with over 130 member firms in over 40 countries. Site has a member directory, benefits info, an events calendar, a job bank and more.

RAN ONE
This international network of independent firms is devoted to helping its members grow their practices through training programs, software solutions, support, networking and consulting services.

RSM McGladrey Network
Web site of one of the larger networks of independent firms in the U.S., which also is linked RSM International, a worldwide network. Here you'll find their newsletter, info on conferences, seminars and online CPE, a member directory and more.
