Accountingfly Acquires Going Concern

Accountingfly, the online career community for accounting professionals, announced the acquisition of online accounting news publication GoingConcern.com.

The publication will continue to operate independently and founding editor Caleb Newquist will maintain his position as editor-in-chief while assuming the new role of head of content for Accountingfly.

Going Concern, formerly a member of Sift Media’s family of sites that includes AccountingWEB, covers breaking and developing accounting news with insider analysis and a focus on accountants and firms shaping the profession.

“Joining forces with Going Concern means we have more opportunities to provide meaningful content to accountants earlier in their careers,” stated Accountingfly CEO Jeff Phillips. “It also helps accounting employers because employers are looking for new ways to connect with talent. Going Concern has a large and highly engaged audience of early career accountants, and we want to introduce those accountants to our clients, who are some of the very best employers in the profession. Accountingfly’s employers are really excited about the opportunity to reach this audience.”

Employers use Accountingfly’s online career community to recruit interns and early career and experienced accountants by searching customizable candidate profiles.

"We believe Accountingfly is the perfect new home for Going Concern and a great alignment," stated Tom Dunkerley, managing director of Sift Media. "We've been really impressed with Jeff and his team at Accountingfly, and we're confident that they will give Going Concern the focus it deserves and make it an even bigger success. As a result of this sale, we’ll be able to invest further resource and energy into building the AccountingWEB brand and audience, globally.”
