Pleasnton, Calif. (Dec. 11, 2002) -- Accpac International released a new version of its low-end accounting software Simply Accounting, which includes the ability to establish a Webstore" for transacting electronic commerce and the ability to set up separate reporting accounts for as many as 100 departments or divisions.Other new features in Simply Accounting 2003 include integrated payroll and time/billing systems and enhanced security, reporting and general journal capabilities. The product has 360,000 users and there are 1,500 consultants, including 1,100 accounting professionals, certified to assist users with its set-up and use.
Simply Accounting costs $39.99 for a Basic version and $89.99 for a "Pro" version with multi-user and multi-currency capabilities. The Webstore function, which includes hosting services by Accpac, costs an additional $35 per month for up to 100 catalogue items and $49 per month for up to 1,000 items.
Webstore is available with both the Pro and Basic versions of Simply Accounting. Departmental accounting and integrated time/billing and payroll functions are available only in the Pro edition.
