AccuFund Offers Employee Self-Service Portal

Nonprofit accounting software developer AccuFund has released a Web-based Employee Portal for its AccuFund Accounting Suite.

The Employee Portal is a customizable interface that allows organizations to provide employee access to organizational news and personal information. It can be used through an internal network or over the Web via a Secure Sockets Layer connection.

With the Employee Portal, employees can view the organization's public news and information and log in to view private news and view or change their personal and employment information.

The Employee Portal can be configured to communicate information and events organization-wide or to individual departments or employees. Whenever an employee logs on to their Employee Portal page, they will see only the information that is intended specifically for them and their department. PDFs of documents such as health enrollment forms can be attached for printing or download.

"The Employee Portal is part of our continuing objective to help customers facilitate important, yet often time-consuming, tasks and make their overall work experience much smoother," said AccuFund president Peter Stam. "With the Employee Portal, organizations can empower employees to see as much information as they want them to see. They can also better manage individual employee records by allowing employees to update their own data to the extent that managers want to allow."

Modules are added to the Employee Portal that enable employees to view, update and print their personal and employment information. The Employee Self-Service module, which is available with this release of the Employee Portal, allows employees to view and print their pay stubs and to view and change their address, phone numbers, contacts in the organization, and withholding and benefits information. The employer can determine specifically which information can be viewed, changed and require change approval. Time periods can be designated when it is necessary to limit the availability of information or the opportunity to make changes.

Customization of the look and feel of the Employee Portal interface is also available. Organizations can incorporate their logos and a specific theme, color scheme, button style or images. Customization of the interface as well as the functionality provided by the Employee Portal is controlled through the AccuFund Accounting Suite.

The Employee Portal is installed on a computer within an organization's network and is a self-contained Web server application requiring no additional Web server software. SSL security is included to provide secure communication of the employees' information.
The AccuFund Employee Portal is available with both the Standard and Professional editions of the AccuFund Accounting Suite. The cost is $1,295 and up based on the number of active employees.
