Bolstered by the additional revenue generated by the acquisitions of SurePayroll and ePlan Services, payroll and benefits outsourcing provider Paychex posted a 7-percent rise in second quarter revenue to $545.7 million for the period ended November 30.
Meanwhile, profits rose 5 percent, to $140.4 million, while its core payroll services reported a 5-percent rise, to $371.7 million.
Second-quarter revenues for Paychex’s human resources unit spiked 12 percent to $163.3 million.
Paychex chief executive Martin Mucci said the company expanded its software-as-a-service offerings via the introduction of a new single sign-on page for online users and an iPad application.
