AICPA Plans International Infocast Series

The American Institute of CPAs plans to host a series of three "infocasts" in conjunction with the Society of Management Accountants of Canada and the United Kingdom's Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

On Sept. 18, Robert S. Kaplan, co-developer of the balanced scorecard and activity-based costing, will discuss a framework for developing a closed-loop management system that companies can use to translate a strategy into specific objectives and initiatives. On Oct. 16, Steve Player, North American program director for the Beyond Budgeting Roundtable, will explain how companies can break free from budgeting's annual performance trap by moving toward continuous planning and adaptive control. On Nov. 20, Brett Knowles, founding partner of Performance Measurement and Management, will discuss strategic performance management and how to reduce the time spent in the planning process.

The Webcasts all run from noon to 1:15 pm ET and will be available for one year. To register, visit http://fmcenter.aicpa.org/Resources/Management+Accounting+Guidelines/.
