AICPA Plans Women's Workshop

The American Institute of CPAs will hold a workshop next month devoted to retaining and developing women leaders at accounting firms.

In the past two decades, women made up 52 percent of accounting graduates and new hires, but only 23 percent of accounting firm partners today are women. The workshop aims to give CPA firms management techniques they can use to attract, retain, promote and advance women on a partnership track.

The workshop will take place Sept. 9 and 10 at the Illinois CPA Society's offices at 550 W. Jackson, Suite 900, in Chicago. Speakers include Crowe Chizek partner Mary Bennett, former Elliott Davis chairman Todd Mitchell, and consultants Cheryl Leitschuh and Judith Trepeck.
