The American Institute of CPAs has given one of its most prestigious awards to tax attorney Albert B. Ellentuck.

Ellentuck received the 2008 Arthur J. Dixon Memorial Award, named in honor of a former chairman of the AICPA's Tax Executive Committee. The award was presented at the AICPA's Fall Tax Division Meeting in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 30 by Robert Rosen, another former chair of the AICPA Tax Executive Committee. 

Ellentuck is currently of counsel to King & Nordlinger LLP in Arlington, Va. He was managing tax partner of the international accounting firm of Laventhol & Horwath from 1975-1989, and began his career as an attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service.

Ellentuck has been a volunteer leader for the AICPA for 20 years and is another former chair of the AICPA Tax Executive Committee. Ellentuck also chaired the Liaison with Other Professional Organizations Subcommittee and the Tax Division Communications Committee. He has twice served on the Tax Administration Subcommittee and the Corporations & Shareholders Subcommittee. In addition, he is a contributing editor of the AICPA's publication The Tax Advisor and has served on the editorial advisory board for many years. He has also written numerous tax-oriented books and articles and is a member of Practitioner's Publishing Company's Tax Action Bulletin Panel.
