Anchin, Block & Anchin LLP has merged with H.J. Behrman, adding 26 accounting and tax professionals to Anchin's roster and building the firm's real estate practice.

Anchin will now have 54 partners and a total staff of over 400 housed on seven floors of its midtown New York office. Behrman's three partners - Howard M. Krams, Louis R. Levy and Neal Klinger - are joining Anchin.

"Their reputation in the New York area and their expertise and reputation throughout the real estate community reinforces our position as the 'go to' real estate accounting and tax firm," said Anchin managing partner Frank Schettino in a statement.

Both firms have longtime roots in New York. Anchin was founded in 1923 and Behrman in 1910.

Financial details were not disclosed. Anchin ranked 27th on Accounting Today's list of the Top 100 Firms, with $76.6 million in revenue.
