App of the Week: SuperBeam

No network connection, no problem, for users of SuperBeam, who can directly share files between their devices without the need for a data connection.

Consumers can securely transfer documents, photos, videos and other files with the mobile application, currently available from LiveQoS and powered by its file-sharing platform LiveShare, for Android, Windows, Mac and Linux, with iOS soon to come.

The app uses WiFi Direct technology or an existing WiFi connection to transmit data at very high speeds, by using a unique URL or QR code, so data can be encrypted and downloaded without the need to memorize passwords or search other devices. The app also lets users pair devices, either through using Near Field Communication, QR codes or entering a sharing key.

Users can also go bigger, creating stored groups that will facilitate the sharing of sensitive documents, simultaneously and securely, for occasions like business meetings.

What sets SuperBeam apart, besides the security of its encrypted file information, is that it doesn’t rely on mobile data connectivity or the high cost that can cause to data plans.

SuperBeam is available in the Google Play story here.
