Avalara Links to Intuit GoPayment

Cloud-based sales tax automation service provider Avalara has linked its geolocation sales tax engine with Intuit’s GoPayment mobile payment application.

GoPayment users can now calculate taxes based on the precise location of a sale, taking into account the city, state and municipal tax codes along with special tax districts. Once enabled, all sales and resulting taxes initiated from GoPayment are reported and recorded based on the latitude and longitude coordinates of the sale.

In addition, merchants can access their sales tax information in a downloadable report. They can do so by logging into the online Intuit Merchant Service Center, selecting the appropriate state, purchasing the reporting subscription, and downloading a report that provides all sales taxes for the given period of time.

The geolocation sales tax feature is on GoPayment for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, as well as GoPayment for Android devices.

“Avalara eases the burden of statutory sales tax requirements by providing a fast, easy way to manage indirect taxes that is as accurate and affordable for small and midsized businesses as it is for large corporations,” said Avalara chief executive Scott McFarlane. “GoPayment users are now able to spend time on what matters most, delighting their customers and growing the business.”
