Averett Warmus Durkee has acquired the Altamonte Springs office from Top 100 firm Cohen & Co.
The acquisition provides Averett Warmus Durkee with its first office outside of downtown Orlando.
The partners of the Altamonte Springs office, Russell Goldberg and Scott McEachron, will become principals at Averett Warmus Durkee. The firm will also gain an additional 15 accountants from the deal. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, but the deal has closed.
Goldberg's firm will be ending its relationship with Ohio-based Cohen & Co. on October 31. The Altamonte Spring location will remain open and all current employees of Goldberg's firm will be retained.
"Russell Goldberg, Scott McEachron and their team complement our firm extremely well," Averett Warmus Durkee CEO Jim Warmus said in a statement. "They build relationships with their clients and provide services normally found at national firms with a personal touch."
The acquisition is part of a larger growth strategy of Averett Warmus Durkee, which is actively considering acquisitions throughout Florida, along with the addition of new team members.
Cohen & Co. specializes in tax, assurance and consulting services, and also provides cloud accounting technology. The firm’s business niches include construction, real estate development, agriculture, hospitality and corporate business services.
