Best Software Unveils New Initiatives at Tech Conference

Las Vegas, Nev. (May 7, 2004) -- Best Software unveiled three new initiatives for accountants this week at the American Institute of CPAs’ Information Technology Conference, here, including a new online payroll service for small businesses.

Best rolled out the Peachtree Payroll Service, a full-service, Internet-based payroll solution for small businesses that syncs with Peachtree accounting products to facilitate integration with the general ledger and employee and job information. It calculates employee withholdings, and files and deposits customers’ federal, state and local payroll taxes, including sending out quarterly and annual tax forms to the proper taxing authorities.

The company is offering a "penalty-free" guarantee, under which Best will pay any tax penalties for inaccurate or late filings as long as the data provided is on time, complete and accurate, and the customer’s accounts are properly funded.

Best also introduced the expansion of the Best Software Accountants’ Network (BSAN) libraries to include ACT! contact management, and CPAPracticeManager (part of the CPASoftware product line) for accountants’ practice management.

The company also announced the re-branding of the CPASoftware product line, which includes CPAPractice Manager, formerly Visual Practice Management, CPAAccounting Manager, formerly Visual Client Write-Up, CPADocument Manager, formerly Visual File Cabinet and CPATax Manager, formerly Visual Tax.
