Bill.com names Ryan McGurk vice president of accountant sales

Bill.com has named Ryan McGurk as vice president of accountant sales. McGurk joins the online invoicing company from Uber Eats, where he served as sales leader.

McGurk began his career as an auditor for PwC, then shifted to sales roles at NetSuite. After earning an MBA at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he led sales and account management teams at Facebook focused on growing existing enterprise accounts. McGurk’s most recent job had him guiding a large team at Uber Eats working with restaurants nationwide. His role at Bill.com is to help accounting customers navigate every stage of development from implementing Bill.com to growing with it as they develop new revenue streams.

McGurk’s appointment follows a busy year for Bill.com. Last year, the company launched International Business Payments, allowing firms and their clients to pay vendors in 40 countries. Bill.com has brought on senior leadership for customer success, engineering and products.

“The accounting profession is seeing expanded opportunities and new business models in serving clients,” said McGurk in a statement. “Client accounting services practices allow them to further escalate their trusted advisor status and be a primary growth driver for their firms. Digital business payments, which for a long time have been an underserved space, are the foundation of a successful CAS practice. With proven technology and established experience in helping firms grow, Bill.com is uniquely positioned to guide them in navigating this transformation.”
