Nonprofit accounting software developer Blackbaud Inc. has released Blackbaud Giving Score, a new prospect research tool for its Raiser’s Edge product that helps nonprofits target and identify potential supporters, then engage and cultivate them into donors.

The Raiser’s Edge tracks all the details associated with building supporter relationships, with online marketing functionality including Web-based donation and registration, e-mail communications, and targeted fundraising campaigns to help nonprofits acquire, engage and cultivate supporters.

Blackbaud Giving Score analyzes supporters based on their capacity and likelihood to give to an organization using information from their financial background and affinity with an organization’s mission. It segments a nonprofit’s contacts into four categories, assigns a score to the constituent records, tags them with identities, and provides a fundraising strategy.

“The Raiser’s Edge enables organizations to communicate with supporters the way they want to be communicated with,” said Blackbaud president of general markets Kevin Mooney. “With the addition of The Giving Score, The Raiser’s Edge helps nonprofits understand who to target and how to effectively communicate with them.”
