Bonadio Group Acquires Another Upstate New York Firm

Upstate New York’s Bonadio Group announced that it has merged with Loguidice and Kamide CPAs PLLC, an accounting and tax service firm located in Syracuse, N.Y.

Financial terms of the deal, which became official Jan. 1, were not disclosed.

In a statement, managing partner Thomas F. Bonadio said that the merger is part of the group’s aggressive growth strategy to become upstate New York’s first mega-regional accounting firm. The merger also offers the firm closer proximity to a growing number of health care and tax-exempt organizations located in the central and northeastern part of the state.

Loguidice and Kamide’s 12 employees will join Bonadio and continue working out of the existing Syracuse offices. Michael Loguidice and Thomas Kamide Jr. have joined the Bonadio Group as partners and will head that office, which is expected to double its workforce within two years. .

The acquisition will increase Bonadio’s employee base to more than 220 and the new Syracuse office will join Bonadio’s other New York locations in Rochester, Buffalo, Perry and Geneva.

The merger is Bonadio’s second since 2005, and the firm has said it will next set its sights on the Albany, N.Y. market.
