Boomer Consulting, Inc. announced Thursday the recipients of its inaugural Bridging the Gap Awards, recognizing firms and individuals in the accounting industry that excel in aligning technology, firm management and talent development.

Steve Perkins, chief information officer of HoganTaylor LLP, is the winner of the Bridging the Gap in Technology Award.  Since joining the Boomer Technology Circles in 2011, he has fully embraced the concept of aligning IT strategy with the overall vision of his firm. He is constantly on a quest for knowledge and new ideas to take back to his firm.

Jana Cinnamon, training director at Abdo, Eick & Meyers, is the winner of the Bridging the Gap in Talent Development Award.  Jana has been instrumental in connecting the strategic initiatives in the firm to the communication, development and overall training strategies.

Kennedy and Coe, LLC has been awarded the Bridging the Gap in IT/Firm Management Award. The firm has been a leader in its IT Governance and budgeting process for many years, working hard to align IT strategy with the overall firm strategy and effectively communicate major initiatives.

Boldt Carlisle + Smith LLC has been awarded the Bridging the Gap in Talent Development Award.  This firm has transitioned from shared services to a shared vision firm by naming their first ever Managing Partner, building a reporting structure in their four offices and implementing their first ever performance management process.

“We are thrilled to recognize these firms and individuals that are setting the standard for the industry,” said Boomer Consulting COO Sandra Wiley. “These awards are a testament to their focus and hard work to improve themselves and their firms every day.”

The winners were chosen by a Boomer Consulting, Inc. selection committee, along with nominations provided by members of the Boomer Technology Circles and Talent Development Advantage community.

The firms and individuals were honored at the 2013 Boomer Technology Circles Summit and Talent Development Advantage conference on August 19-20, 2013 in Kansas City, Mo. The event brought together firm leaders, technology professionals and talent development leaders with a focus on bridging the gap between technology, firm management and talent development.
